FM high school students participated in the competition for 2021.

Seven Fayetteville-Manlius students received triple crown awards at the regional-level of this year’s National History Day Competition.

In a team effort at the regional level, members Elena Coleman, Jennifer Dong, Ziye Wang, and Miranda Zheng won first place in the Senior Documentary category. Meg Lorraine and Maddy Krueger placed second in this same category. In the Senior Exhibit category junior Pelin Lu received a first place award for her project.

The competition is an event sponsored by the National History Day organization which celebrates history through independent student research projects. In either individual or group settings, students have the opportunity to submit a research paper, exhibit, documentary, website, or performance constructed from an inquiry relating to that year’s theme:  “Communication in History: the Key to Understanding,”

The award winners from FM’s NHD Club qualified for the state-level competition, which will take place on April 30th.  A national level competition will follow in June.
