It’s that time of the year again when the FMHS student body races around to raise money for Camp Good Days! For those unaware, Camp Good Days is a fun getaway for children impacted by cancer and sickle cell anemia, located on Keuka Lake. At camp, children have the chance to participate in weeks of fun activities with the ultimate goal of helping them feel like kids again.
Now most people know that the Dance Marathon MCs run around raising thousands of dollars for the cause every year. But what goals do they represent, and why are there colors associated with each team? Here are some questions to get to know the MCs better and their fight for the cause.

Pink Team: Isa Crain and Turner Berry
What is something to look forward to at Dance Marathon this year?

Isa:
Why did you want to be an MC?: It’s great to have special times for the kids.
Dream Superpower: To teleport
Turner:
Why did you want to be an MC?: Because I think it’s a great cause.

What is something to look forward to at Dance Marathon this year? We are both looking forward to the check reveal, DM, and performing our dance!

Elizabeth:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I chose to be an MC because I’m so involved with Camp Good Days, and I see what a positive impact it is for them, and I think every kid struggling should be able to get the chance to experience the love of camp.
Dream Superpower? My superpower would be healing someone you could touch, because that’s actually an insane power.
Tyler:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out to be an MC because I love helping people, and I thought it would be a lot of fun.
What movie duo would your team be? Our duo would be LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.

Orange Team: Madeline Davidson and Matthew Brenneck

Get to Know Maddie and Matthew:
Maddie:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I’ve done Science Olympiad in the past, and I loved being on a team with everyone doing their part to succeed. I wanted to do the same thing for a cause that has a lasting impact on kids who need it. It’s such a special opportunity to make a difference.
Dream Superpower: I’d want to teleport. My time management before leaving the house isn’t good, and I’d never be late. Plus, I could sleep in longer before school and save a lot of money on gas.
Matthew:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out because I saw how much difference I could make just by volunteering at camp, and I wanted to continue supporting Camp Good Days on a larger scale.
If your team had a theme song, what would it be and why?: “Money Longer” by Lil Uzi Vert because we are going to raise the most!

Why did you choose to be an MC? I want to give back to the community that gave so much to my family! I loved volunteering; all the kids were so sweet, and I want to send as many kids there as possible.
If your team had a theme song, what would it be and why? “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, because we’re a happy team!
Flynn:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out for my uncle and for the kids, of course.

Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out to be an MC because I had so much fun volunteering at camp and knew I wanted to send as many kids to camp as I could.

Why did you choose to be an MC? I wanted to be an MC because I wanted to help raise money for Camp Good Days and send kids to camp.

Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out because when I volunteered, I saw how much the camp does for these kids, and I wanted to make sure all of the kids get the chance to go and experience it.

Why did you choose to be an MC? Because it is an awesome cause and is a ton of fun

Why did you choose to be an MC? I chose to be an MC because I want to make a difference, and I want to help families and kids struggling with cancer. Being an MC for me is about being able to help the community and bring happiness to those around me.
Dream Superpower: I would like to be able to talk to animals.
Gavin:
Why did you choose to be an MC? I tried out to be an MC because I wanna give these kids the best time at camp that they can have
