This past March, FM hosted Dance Marathon, its biggest fundraiser of the year. Every year, FM raises money for Camp Good Days, a nonprofit organization for kids and families affected by cancer and sickle cell anemia. Fourteen students are selected each year to head the fundraiser with the help of student council, deemed the “masters of ceremonies,” or MCs, for that year.

To kick off the fundraiser, the annual Dance Marathon MC assembly featuring the MC dance and movie was held February 3rd, in person for the first time since 2019. To attend Dance Marathon, students are asked to raise sixty dollars for the charity, but this year many evidently raised more than they were asked. Although there was a shorter time frame than past years due to COVID, the massive turnout even warranted safety restrictions on the dance floor. In total, the FM community raised a total of $116,072.00, one of the highest amounts in recent years.

During this year’s fundraiser, the MCs captured some of the fun of Dance Marathon on their disposable cameras, a wonderful way to share the joy of the event with the entire FM community. Check out some of the highlights in the gallery on The Buzz website!
