You may have heard about them from a friend of a friend, seen one of their QR codes passed around the school, or sent a friend request on Instagram by them. But who really are A Bus for the Boys and why do they want a bus?
A Bus for the Boys is a fundraising campaign created by a group of friends here at F-M with the goal of purchasing a half-sized bus. The group consists of sophomores Noah Massey, Michael Freson, Brian Hebert, Sam Tucker, Trevor Gates, London Brown, and Lucas Price. While these are the core members, they see all their donors as part of their group to reach their goal.
One of the biggest questions that everyone wonders after learning about their fundraising campaign is, “What inspired them all to go after a bus?” Noah Massey provided the answer,“[We] thought it would be a great project to take on this year, and we see lots of potential for activities as well as social media content.” Once they purchase the bus, Noah mentioned that they look to “renovate the bus and turn it into a fun place for us to hangout, and travel around the local area.” Noah also said that they were going to “set up couches and a TV to really maximize the space.”
Cost is also another issue that needs to be addressed as they fundraise and as stated on their go fund me page, they look to raise $4000. That amount is a rough estimate to cover the purchase of the bus and initial fees. Now $4000 is not by any means a small amount of money and can be hard to get, but they all feel very positive about reaching their goal.
As for where they are going to acquire the bus once they reach their goal, the boys have looked at several options online, ranging from Facebook marketplace and eBay to an online content creator who is willing to sell them one.
This may seem like a crazy thing that high school teenagers want to do as a joke, but these boys are very dedicated to their mission and they have shown great passion in their work to fundraise.
