Fayetteville Manlius High School’s commitment to raising money for the kids at Camp Good Days is back this year with a contagious spirit. For those that are new to FM, Camp Good Days is a non-profit organization for children affected by cancer or sickle cell anemia that allows them to have a summer camp experience. Each year the goal is to raise $100,000 and send as many kids to camp as possible. Last year the MCs well exceeded that goal and were able to raise over $124,000, so it is clear these new MCs have big shoes to fill.
While most things have remained the same since last year, there is one small difference. FM Student Council decided to add another color! So this year, instead of 14 students and 7 colors, there will be 16 MC’s making up 8 different colors, with the addition of the orange team. Student council was able to make this change because of the overwhelming interest from the class of 2024. There were over 30 kids who wanted to participate and only 14 spots, so it seemed like the logical option would be to add another color in order to raise the most money possible for Camp Good Days. Student Council representative Haley Kim said, “Student Council is thrilled to work with our MC’s this year to fundraise and send even more kids to Camp Good Days.”
Here are the 2023-24 DM MC’S!

All of this year’s DM MCs are beyond excited to have the opportunity to raise as much money as possible for the kids. Red team MC Lydia Davidson explained what made her want to become an MC, “After attending Camp Good Days over the summer, I wanted to be able to give back with a really fun group of people.” Throughout the school year the MCs will work tirelessly fundraising, hosting events and practicing their dance for the kick off in March. From the pink team, Kieran Egan said, “I’m most looking forward to seeing the kids we are helping and being a big part of the experiences we are going to make happen for them.”
So, when they come around asking for your help this year, remember IT’S FOR THE KIDS!
